Payroll Advisor

Supporting Novacroft by working autonomously to manage, integrate and insource two payrolls while communicating effectively with stakeholders and driving process improvements.

In summary


The role holder will be a certified Payroll Adviser who can deliver an accurate, on time payroll service to the business.  They will be able to utilise data to  inform good decision making.  The business currently operates  a four weekly and a monthly payroll, currently working alongside an outsourced payroll provider.  The long term view would be to integrate the two payrolls. Demonstrated experience in streamlining processes is required.

Significant input into the stability and growth of Novacroft through:

  • Ensuring that the monthly and 4 weekly payrolls are completed on time and accurate to ensure that queries on the payroll are at a minimum.
  • Working alongside an outsourced payroll provider to analyse, streamline, run and communicate two payrolls (four weekly and monthly).
  • Creating and driving payroll process improvement.
  • Conducting the integration of the four weekly payroll into a single monthly payroll. 
  • Implementing internal software systems to facilitate the insourcing of the payroll process from the payroll provider. 
  • Delivering a technical approach to payroll while communicating effectively with all levels of the organisation when and if required. 

Qualifications and experience

  • Payroll Qualification - CIPP
  • Expert and demonstrated knowledge in managing four weekly  and monthly payrolls
  • Demonstrated exposure to delivery of process improvement
  • Strong ability to work autonomously with limited direction to achieve desired results
  • Strong ability to capitalise on the use of information systems
  • Strong ability to implement systems and to insource processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management/communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel Skills

The nature of the role is hybrid, hence – the ability to travel to the Northampton office is required.
